The minimum requirements for Macintosh Internet Explorer 5.x are as follows:
- Macintosh Operating System 7.6.1 or later
- 8 MB or RAM with virtual memory enabled
- 12 MB of available hard disk space for Internet Explorer
- QuickTime version 3.0 or later
- Open Transport 1.2 or later (for dial up connections)
- OT Point to Point Protocol (PPP) or similar PPP connection software (control
panel) with PPP (extension)
- 28.8 kbps modem or higher
- Access to the Internet through an Internet service provider (ISP) or the
network to which your computer is connected
To set http://www.msn.com as the Default Home Page in Macintosh OS 8.6 or 9.x
1. On the Apple menu, point to Control Panels, and then click Internet.
2. Verify that the Active Set and Edit Set match.
3. Click the Web tab.
4. To the right of Home Page:, click the radio button.
5. In the Home Page box, type: http://www.msn.com.
6. To the right of Search Page:, click the radio button.
7. In the Search Page box, type: http://www.msn.com.
8. Close the Internet window.
9. When prompted to Save, click Save.
To set http://www.msn.com as the Default Home Page in Macintosh OS X
1. On the Apple menu, click System Preferences.
2. Under the heading Internet and Network, click Internet.
3. Click the Web tab.
4. In the Home Page box, type: http://www.msn.com.
5. In the Search Page box, type: http://www.msn.com.
6. Close the Internet window.
