This article describes how to access the Apple System Profiler to verify the
following:

- Macintosh Operating System version

- RAM

- TCP/IP info

- Model type

- Macintosh Operating System X

MORE INFORMATION
================

To access the Apple System Profiler in Macintosh Operating System 8.6 or
greater
- On the Apple menu, select Apple System Profiler.

To verify the Macintosh OS version from Apple System Profiler
- Click the arrow next to Software overview.
  The Macintosh Operating System version appears to the right of Finder.

To obtain the Machine ID and Model name from the Apple System Profiler
- Click the arrow next to Hardware overview.
  The Machine ID and Model name appear directly below Hardware Overview.

To verify the Network overview from the Apple System Profiler

1. Click the arrow next to Network Overview.
  If applicable, the Ethernet Adapter will appear at the top of the list. The
  Modem Name and Protocol appear to the right of Modem.

2. Click the arrow next to TCP/IP.

3. The Netmask, IP Address, Default gateway address, and Domain Name Server
  address appear below TCP/IP.
