SYMPTOMS
========
After a connection outage, SNA Server and Host Integration Server 2000 may not
re-activate any printer Dynamically Defined Dependent Logical Units (DDDLUs).
Display DDDLUs and LUA DDDLUs do not exhibit this same problem.
CAUSE
=====
After the connection outage, the SNA Server service does not send a Network
Management Vector Transport (NMVT) command for the printer DDDLUs to solicit an
Activate Logical Unit (ACTLU) command from the remote computer.
RESOLUTION
==========
SNA Server 4.0
--------------
As of May 2002, a fix is available for this problem in SNA Server 4.0 is not
available.
Host Integration Server 2000
----------------------------
A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to
correct the problem described in this article and should be applied only to
systems experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional
testing at a later time, to further ensure product quality. Therefore, if you
are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait
for the next Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000 that contains this fix.
To resolve this problem immediately, contact Microsoft Product Support Services
