To optimize modem performance
1. Click Start , and then click Control Panel.
2. Click Phone and Modem options.
3. Click the Modem tab, and then click Properties.
4. In the new properties window, click the Modem tab, and then do one of the
following:
- Set the speed to 57600 if you are using a 28.8kbps or 33.6kbps modem
- Set the speed to and 115200 if you are using 56k modem.
5. Click on OK twice.
