To set up Outlook Express to read your MSN Explorer and Hotmail e-mail

1. On the Outlook menu, click Tools.

2. From the drop down list, click E-mail Accounts.
  Note: If you do not immediately see E-mail Accounts, you may need to click the
  double arrows at the bottom of the list to display the entire Tools list.

3. On the E-mail Accounts page, under E-mail, click the Add a new e-mail account
  button, and then click Next.

4. On the Server Type page, click the HTTP button, and then click Next.

5. On the Internet E-mail Settings (HTTP) page:
  Under User Information:
   - In the Your name box, type your name.

   - In the E-mail Address box, type your complete MSN e-mail address.

  Under Server Information:

   - In the HTTP Mail Service Provider list, select MSN.

  Note: You can also read your Hotmail mail with Outlook Express by entering
  your Hotmail address in the E-mail Address box, and by selecting Hotmail in
  the HTTP Mail Service Provider box.
  Under Logon Information:

   - User Name will automatically be populated.

   - In the Password box, type your password.

   - Select the Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) box.

     Note: The Remember password box is automatically selected. Clear the box,
     and then click Next. If all of the account information is correct, the
     Congratulations page will be displayed. To close the wizard, click Finish.

6. If some errors have occurred, correct the errors before continuing:

   - Review the Error messages.

   - Make corrections.

   - To return to E-mail Accounts page, click Close.

   - Click the Test Account Settings button.
     The MSN Inbox and/or Hotmail Inbox icon(s) will be displayed on the Outlook
     Shortcuts bar.

To access mail from your account

- Click the icon for your account.
  Note: The Hotmail layout in Outlook Express format will look different for
  Hotmail users only.
