SYMPTOMS
========

You receive the following error message:

  "The computer does not meet the minimum system requirements."

CAUSE
=====

Windows 98 Gold is not supported on the current MSN DSL self-install CD.

RESOLUTION
==========

To install the CPE

1. Insert the CD included with the Self-Install kit.
  A message box will appear telling you that your computer does not meet minimum
  requirements.

2. Click OK to get past the message.

3. Connect the CPE.
  The Add New Hardware wizard will start.

4. On the first screen, click Next.

5. On the second screen of the wizard, select Search for the best driver for
  your device, and then click Next.

6. On the third screen of the wizard, select the box next to CD Rom, and then
  click Next.

7. On the fourth screen click Next.
  The wizard will now start installing the universal serial bus (USB) drivers.

8. If prompted, insert the Windows 98 Gold CD.

9. Select CD-ROM as the location for the files, and click Next.

10. When the wizard finishes installing the drivers, click Finish.

11. Restart the computer.

To configure the CPE

1. Start Internet Explorer.

2. Go to: https://cpeconfig.dsl.msn.com/english.

3. Enter your MSN account user name and password.

4. Follow the instructions displayed on the page.

To install MSN Explorer

1. Start Windows Explorer.

2. Browse to the CD drive.
  Note: This is usually the D: drive

3. Navigate to CD drive:\Msn.

4. Double-click msnsetup.exe. MSN Explorer Setupwill launch.

5. If prompted during MSN Explorer Setup, restart the computer.
  Setup will continue after the reboot is complete

6. Follow instructions in the self-install kit to complete MSN Explorer Setup.
