SYMPTOMS
========

You begin typing an e-mail message when another user sends you an instant
message. You respond to the instant message, finish typing the e-mail message,
and then click Send. MSN Explorer stops responding.

CAUSE
=====

Internet Explorer 5.5 Service Pack 1 causes MSN Explorer to stop responding.

RESOLUTION
==========

Install Internet Explorer 5.5 Service Pack 2.

To install Internet Explorer 5.5 Service Pack 2

1. Go to: http://www.microsoft.com/ie.

2. On the right side of the page under Latest Downloads, click the Internet
  Explorer 5.5 Service Pack 2 link.

3. Choose a language, and then click Go.

4. Click the Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2 link to begin download.

5. Select Run this program from its current location, and then click OK.
  Note: If you are asked whether you would like to install and run Internet
  Explorer 5.5 Service Pack 2, click Yes.

6. Accept the License Agreement, and then click Next to begin the installation
  process.
