SYMPTOMS
========

You may not see the Read mail offline box in MSN Explorer 6.1 if you upgraded to
MSN Explorer 6.1 with existing MSN Internet Access account over a Local Area
Network (LAN) connection.

CAUSE
=====

This is a known issue.

RESOLUTION
==========

To change from LAN connection to dial-up and back to LAN

1. Start MSN Explorer.

2. On the sign-in screen, click Connection Settings.

3. Click Change how you connect to the Internet, and then click Continue.

4. Select MSN dial-up Internet Access, and then click Continue.

5. Check that the dialing options are configured correctly, and then click
  Continue.
  A message appears stating that no local numbers were found for your area.

6. Click OK.

7. Select Search for a new access number.

8. Enter your telephone number, and then click Continue.
  MSN Explorer will now dial a toll free number. Once connected, a list of
  access numbers in your area will appear.

9. Select the Use box for any local numbers, and clear the Use box for numbers
  that are long distance.

10. If necessary, select the Dial 1 or Area Code boxes.

11. Click Continue.

12. Complete Setup.
  MSN Explorer will dial and sign you in.

13. After you are signed in, click Sign Out.

14. From the sign-in screen, click Connection Settings.

15. Click Change how you connect to the Internet, and then click Continue

16. Click Existing Internet Service Provider, and then click Continue.
  You will now be configured to use your LAN connection, and the offline e-mail
  feature should now appear when you sign in.
