To filter bulk e-mail and junk e-mail
1. From the mail page, click mail settings.
2. Click inbox protector.
3. Select one of the following options:
- Typical - Incoming e-mail will be directed to your Inbox if:
- Your e-mail address appears on the "TO:" or "CC:" line.
- The sender's address appears in your Hotmail Address Book.
- The user in the msn.com or msn.com domain.
- The message is from Hotmail WebCourier or Special Offers Subscription;
Hotmail Member Letter; or is from Microsoft, MSN, or a Microsoft
Passport partner site.
- Custom - For advanced users. Select the boxes to indicate which e-mail
message should be delivered to your inbox:
- Your address appears on the "TO:" or "CC:" line.
- The sender's address is in your Hotmail Address Book.
- The sender's address is in the msn.com domain.
4. After you have selected one of the above options, select one of the following
to specify how you would like to discard unwanted e-mail:
- Bulk Mail Folder - Messages are deleted after 14 Days of receipt.
- Trash Can - This is emptied several times a week.
5. Use the Safe List to specify what domains, if any, you would like to receive
e-mail from.
