SYMPTOMS
========

When you install the update for Flight Simulator 2000, there may not be any
engine sounds the next time that you play Flight Simulator.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior occurs when the multimedia component in the system software is
corrupt.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this issue, follow these steps to uninstall and reinstall the
Microsoft Windows multimedia component:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.

3. On the Windows Setup tab, click to clear the Multimedia check box.

4. Click Apply.

5. On the Windows Setup tab, click to select the Multimedia check box.

6. Click OK.

7. Follow the instructions on the screen to finish installing the multimedia
  component.
