To set up inbox protector

1. Click "mail settings".

2. On the "mail settings" page, click "inbox protector".

3. On the "inbox protector" page choose one of the following options:

   - Typical - Incoming e-mail will be directed to your Inbox if:

      - Your e-mail address appears on the "TO:" or "CC:" line.

      - The sender's address appears in your Hotmail Address Book.

      - It is a user in the msn.com domain.

      - Any users maintaining an account with these services.

      - It is a Hotmail WebCourier or Special Offers Subscription, Hotmail
        Member Letter, or it is from Microsoft, MSN, or a Microsoft Passport
        partner site.

   - Custom - For advanced users. Use the check boxes to indicate which e-mail
     message should be delivered to your inbox:

      - Your address appears on the "TO:" or "CC:" line

      - The sender's address is in your Hotmail Address Book.

      - The sender's address is in the msn.com domain.

4. Choose how to discard these items. You can send them to:

   - Bulk Mail Folder - Messages are deleted after 14 days.

   - Trash Can - This is emptied several times a week.

5. Select the domains, if any, from which you are willing to receive mail. This
  is your "Safe List".
