SYMPTOMS
========

When you try to open an e-mail attachment in MSN Explorer, a dialog box appears
stating, "We're very sorry, but the MSN service needs to restart because of an
error". MSN Explorer presents you with two options:

- "Tell MSN about this!"

- "Don't Tell MSN!"

After you select an option, MSN Explorer shuts down and restarts.

CAUSE
=====

Internet Explorer causes this issue in MSN Explorer.

RESOLUTION
==========

If you experience this issue, you can resolve it by accessing your e-mail from
http://www.hotmail.com, saving the attachment to your disk, or using the Outlook
Express configuration tool to view your e-mail in Outlook Express.

Note: When Internet Explorer 6.0 becomes available, downloading Internet Explorer
6.0 will also solve this issue. You can check for Internet Explorer updates at
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie.

To access e-mail from http://www.hotmail.com

1. Go to http://www.hotmail.com.

2. Enter your Sign-In Name and Password.
  Note: If you are signed in to MSN Explorer and you type http://www.hotmail.com
  in the Address box, you will get a warning asking if you "are sure you want
  to go to the Hotmail Web site".

3. Click the Go to Hotmail Web site button.

To save attachment to disk

1. Double-click the attachment that you want to open.

2. Select Save to disk and click OK.

3. In the Save Attachment As box, select Desktop.

4. Minimize all programs until you can see the desktop.

5. Double-click the icon for the attachment you just saved.
  The attachment opens.

To use the Outlook Express configuration tool to view your e-mail in Outlook
Express

- Go to http://supportservices.msn.com/us/oeconfig/ and follow the instructions
  to configure Outlook Express for reading Web-based e-mail. You should then be
  able to open the attachment from Outlook Express.

Note: This tool does not work for http://www.hotmail.com accounts.
