SYMPTOMS
========
When you attempt to start Microsoft Crimson Skies, you may receive the following
error message:
ERROR starting program the MSVCP60.DLL file is linked to missing export
MSVCRT.dll:_lc_collate_cp
CAUSE
=====
This behavior can occur if any of the following conditions is true:
- You install the program, and then you attempt to start the program before you
restart your computer.
- The Windows Libraries Update is not installed on your computer.
- The Msvcrt.dll file is missing or damaged.
RESOLUTION
==========
To resolve this issue, use the following methods in the order in which they are
presented.
Extract A New Copy of the Msvcrt.dll file
-----------------------------------------
To resolve this issue, extract a new copy of the Msvcrt.dll file from the
original Microsoft Windows installation CD-ROM or floppy disk to the following
folder:
<drive>:\Windows\System
where <drive> is the drive letter of the hard disk on which Microsoft
Windows is installed.
NOTE: These steps are for Windows 98 only.
1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type "sfc" (without the quotation marks), and then click OK.
3. Click "Extract one file from installation disk".
4. In the text box, type "msvcrt.dll" (without the quotation marks), and then
click Start.
5. Click OK, and then follow the instructions on backing up the existing file
before you overwrite it.
6. If you are prompted to restart your computer, click Yes.

If the issue continues to occur, proceed to the next method.
Copy Msvcrt.dll File from the Crimson Skies CD-ROM
--------------------------------------------------
1. Click Start, point to Programs, and click Windows Explorer.
2. Click the CD-ROM drive that contains the Microsoft Crimson Skies CD-ROM.
3. Double-click the Game folder.
4. Right-click the Msvcrt.dll file, and then click Copy.
5. Click the Windows\System folder.
6. Right-click an empty area in the System folder, and then click Paste.
7. Click Yes to overwrite the file.
8. Restart your computer.
If the issue continues to occur, proceed to the next method.
Download and Install the Windows Libraries Update

To download and install the Windows Libraries Update:
1. Visit the following Microsoft Web site:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.asp?
2. Next to "Search using", click Keyword Search.
3. In the Keywords box, type "libraries update" (without the quotation marks).
4. In the Operating System box, click the appropriate operating system for your
computer, and then click Find It!
5. Under Title, click the Microsoft Libraries Update Web link.
6. Follow the instructions on the screen to download and install the Microsoft
Libraries Update.
