SYMPTOMS
========
When you start Microsoft MechWarrior 4: Vengeance, the introductory movie may be
displayed with a series of black lines interlaced with the video and only the
top half of the movie may be displayed correctly.
CAUSE
=====
This behavior can occur if MPEG (.mpg) video files are associated with the Xing
DVD Player version 2.01.
RESOLUTION
==========
To resolve this issue, associate MPEG files with Microsoft Windows Media
Player:
1. Click Start, point to Find, and then click "Files or Folders".
2. In the Named box, type "*.mpg; *.mpeg" (without the quotation marks).
3. In the "Look in" box, click My Computer.
4. Make sure the Include Subfolders check box is selected.
5. Click Find Now.
6. Press and hold down the SHIFT key, right-click any of the files in the found
files list, and then click "Open with".
7. Under "Choose the program you want to use", click Windows Media Player or
Mplayer2.
8. Click to select the "Always use this program to open this type of file" check
box.
9. Click OK.
10. Quit Windows Media Player.
11. Close all open windows on the desktop.
