SYMPTOMS
========

When you attempt to play sounds from Microsoft Encarta World English Dictionary
2001, you may receive the following error message:

  The audio device is not available or in use.

In addition, the text "MVMCI13" may be displayed in the box in which the playback
controls are usually displayed.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior may occur if Encarta World English Dictionary 2001 is installed on
a Microsoft Windows NT 4.0-based computer.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products that are
listed at the beginning of this article.
