SYMPTOMS
========

When you attempt to print a map from one of the programs listed at the beginning
of this article, you may receive the following error message.

  An error occurred while printing. Try printing at a lower resolution or
  reducing the map quality setting in the Print dialog box.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior can occur if both of the following conditions are true:

- You increased the Printing Quality or the dots per inch (dpi) setting in your
  printer driver.

- You configured the program to use the Presentation Map Quality setting to
  print the map.

Or your printer drivers may be outdated.

RESOLUTION
==========

To prevent this issue from occurring, use one of the following methods.

- Do not increase the Print Quality or the dots per inch (dpi) setting in your
  printer driver when you configure the program to use the Presentation Map
  Quality setting to print the map.

- Do not configure the program to use the Presentation Map Quality setting to
  print the map when you increase the Print Quality or the dots per inch (dpi)
  setting in your printer driver.

Install the Latest Printer Driver for Your Printer:

Contact your printer manufacturer to inquire about how to obtain and install the
latest version of the printer driver for your printer. For additional
