SYMPTOMS
========

When you start Microsoft Metal Gear Solid, you may receive the following error
message:

  Mgsi executed an invalid instruction in module Mgsi.exe.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior can occur if either of the following conditions is true:

- Your computer does not meet the minimum system requirements to play the game.

- Your computer does not fully support MMX technology.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this issue, use the following methods.

Make sure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements to play Metal
Gear Solid.

Make Sure That Your Computer Supports MMX Technology
----------------------------------------------------

If the processor (CPU) in your computer supports MMX, but the motherboard does
not support MMX, you may be able to update the BIOS on the motherboard to add
support for MMX technology.

NOTE: If the processor in your computer does not support MMX technology, the only
way to add MMX support is to upgrade the processor.

for your computer, or contact your hardware manufacturer.
