SYMPTOMS
========

When you attempt to host a multiplayer game of Microsoft Plus! Game Pack: Cards
& Puzzles, you may be unable to connect to the guest computers with a modem
or a serial connection.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior can occur if the modem speed or serial connection speed that is
used by the guest computers does not match the modem speed or serial connection
speed that is used by the host computer.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this issue, configure all of the computers to use the same modem
speed or serial connection speed:

1. Start Plus! Game Pack, and then select your player ID.

2. In the list of games, click Multiplayer.

3. In the list of games, click the game that you want to play.

4. Under Connection Types, click Modem or Serial.

5. On the host computer:

  a. Click Host New Game.

  b. In the "Name your online session" box, type a name for the game session,
     and then click OK.

  On the guest computer, click Join Existing Game.

6. Make sure that the values in the following boxes on the guest computer match
  the corresponding values on the host computer:

   - Baud Rate
   - Flow
   - Parity
   - Stop Bits

7. Click OK.
