SYMPTOMS
========

The Visual C++ Debugger may stop responding (hang) when it is run on a computer
that has multiple processors.


CAUSE
=====

This problem is caused by a bug in the Em.dll file, one of the Visual C++ 6.0
debugger files.

RESOLUTION
==========

Install the latest service pack for Visual Studio 6.0.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the
beginning of this article. This bug was corrected in the next service pack for
Visual Studio 6.0.
