SYMPTOMS
========

When you attempt to play any of the single player Java-based games on Zone.com,
you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

- The game window may be distorted.

- The game window may be black or extremely dark.

- The game window may extend beyond the edges of the screen.

- The game window may stop responding (hang).

- The game window does not load

The single-player Java-based games on the Zone include Alchemy, Atomica,
Bejeweled, Blackjack, Blender, Double Trouble, Symbolic Link, and You Know It!
Trivia.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior can occur if the files in the Windows\Java\Packages folder are
missing or damaged.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this issue, install the latest version of the Microsoft virtual
machine, follow these steps:

1. Visit the following Microsoft Web site:

  http://www.microsoft.com/java/vm/dl_vm40.htm

2. Click the "Microsoft VM build 3805 for Windows 95/98, Windows Me, Windows NT
  4.0 and Windows XP" link.

NOTE: If you are using Windows 2000, you will need to install Service Pack 2 or
higher. This is available, by following the Microsoft VM build 3805 for
Microsoft Windows 2000 (included with Windows 2000 Service Pack 2) link.

3. Click "Save this program to disk", and then click OK.

4. In the Save in dialog box, click Desktop, and then click Save.

  NOTE: The file name is MSJavx86.exe.

5. When the download is finished, click Close.

6. On the desktop, double-click the Msjavx86.exe file.

7. Follow the instructions on the screen to install the Microsoft virtual
  machine.
