This article describes how to obtain and use a free subscription to Encarta
Online Deluxe Encyclopedia if you own Microsoft Encarta Encyclopedia 99 or later
on CD-ROM or DVD-ROM.

When you register the North American edition of Encarta Encyclopedia Deluxe 2000
or Encarta Reference Suite 2000 online, you are offered a free subscription to
Encarta Online Deluxe Encyclopedia through the end of the year 2000.

When you register the North American edition of Encarta Encyclopedia 2000
standard edition or any version of Encarta Encyclopedia 99 online, you are
offered a free 30-day subscription to Encarta Online Deluxe Encyclopedia.

When you register Encarta Encyclopedia Deluxe 2001 or Encarta Reference Suite
2001 online, you are offered a free subscription to Encarta Online Deluxe
Encyclopedia through the end of the year 2001.

Encarta Online Deluxe Encyclopedia is a premium Internet multimedia encyclopedia
with 42,000 articles, an atlas, Web links, and more.

To sign up for your free subscription to Encarta Online Deluxe Encyclopedia,
register your copy of Encarta Encyclopedia 99 or Encarta Encyclopedia 2000
online:

1. Connect to your Internet service provider (ISP).

2. Start Encarta Encyclopedia.

3. On the Help menu, click Registration.

4. Follow the instructions on the screen to register Encarta Encyclopedia online
  and to start your free Encarta Online Deluxe Encyclopedia subscription.

To sign in to Encarta Online Deluxe Encyclopedia:

1. Visit the following MSN Web site:

  http://encarta.msn.com

2. Click the Deluxe Sign In Web link.

3. If you are prompted, sign in to your Passport account. If your Passport
  account is configured to sign in automatically, you are not prompted to sign
  in.
