SYMPTOMS
========

You may receive an "Access violation" error message in Routemon when you run the
following command:

  routemon ip show protocol proto= ospf name= <adapter name>

The "Access violation" error message has the following form:

  The instructions at "0x77f930dd" referenced memory at "0x00000001". The
  memory could not be read.

RESOLUTION
==========

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to
correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to
computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive
additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem,
Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Windows NT 4.0 service pack that
contains this fix.

To resolve this problem immediately, contact Microsoft Product Support Services

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that
are listed at the beginning of this article.

This problem occurs only if the Routing and Remote Access Services (RRAS)
component is configured to use the Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) routing
protocol and neighbors are set. For example, the following series of commands
could be used to configure the router in that state:

  routemon ip add interface name= <adapter name>
  routemon ip add protocol proto= ospf name= <adapter name>
  routemon ip set protocol proto= ospf name= <adapter name> ifaddr=
  10.10.10.10 nbraddr= 10.10.20.20 nbrprio= 1
