WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems
that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot
guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor
incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

If you increase the number of child processes that are forked, you can
significantly increase memory usage and system requirements. To increase the
number of child processes:

1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).

2. Locate and click the following registry key:

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Softway Systems\Interix\MaxProc

3. On the Edit menu, click DWORD, type a value up to 1000, and then click OK.

4. Quit Registry Editor.
