SYMPTOMS
========
When you attempt to reinstall Microsoft Streets & Trips 2001, you may
receive the following error message
Error 1316: An error occurred while attempting to read from the file
<drive>:\data.msi. If reinstalling, exit setup and insert the Setup
disc before running reinstall.
where <drive> is the drive letter of the CD-ROM drive.
CAUSE
=====
This behavior can occur if you attempt to reinstall the program when the Streets
& Trips 2001 Disc 2 CD-ROM is inserted in the CD-ROM drive.
RESOLUTION
==========
To resolve this issue:
1. Quit Streets & Trips 2001 Setup.
2. Eject the CD-ROMs from all of your CD-ROM drives.
3. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
4. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
5. On the Install/Uninstall tab, click Microsoft Streets & Trips 2001, and
then click Add/Remove.
6. Click Remove.
7. Follow the instructions on the screen to remove the program.
8. When you are prompted to restart the computer, do so.
9. Insert the Streets & Trips 2001 Disc 1 CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
10. Follow the instructions on the screen to install the program.
