SYMPTOMS
========

When you start Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000, you may experience the following
symptoms:

- You may receive a "General Protection Fault" error message.

- The screen resolution in Flight Simulator 2000 may be 320 x 200 pixels, even
  if the game is configured to use a screen resolution of 640 x 480 pixels.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior can occur if the following conditions are true:

- A video adapter based on the Rendition Verite V1000 chipset is installed in
  your computer.

- An outdated video driver for your video adapter is installed on your
  computer.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this issue, contact your hardware manufacturer to inquire about how
to obtain and install the latest version of the video driver for your video
adapter.

After you install the updated video driver, reset the screen resolution in Flight
Simulator 2000 to 640 x 480 pixels. To do this:

1. On the Options menu, point to Settings, and then click Display.

2. In the Resolution box, click 800x600x16 or 800x600x32, and then click the
  CHECK MARK.

3. On the Options menu, point to Settings, and then click Display.

4. In the Resolution box, click 640x480x16 or 640x480x32, and then click the
  CHECK MARK.
