SYMPTOMS
========

When you start Microsoft Expedia Streets & Trips 2000, you may receive the
following error message:

  This program can no longer run. Click OK to acknowledge this message, and
  then restart the program.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior can occur if the Itss.dll file is missing, damaged, or an
incorrect version.

RESOLUTION
==========

You may be able to resolve this issue by installing the HTML Help Installation
and Update Package. To do this:

1. Insert the Expedia Streets & Trips 2000 Setup CD-ROM into your CD-ROM
  drive. Press and hold down the SHIFT key as you insert the CD-ROM to prevent
  Setup from starting automatically.

2. Click Start, point to Programs, and then click MS-DOS Prompt.

3. Type the following lines, pressing ENTER after you type each line:

  copy <cd-rom>:\common\enu\hhupd.exe <drive>:\windows\desktop
  exit

  where <cd-rom> is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive, and
  <drive> is the drive letter of the hard disk on which Microsoft Windows
  is installed.

4. Clean boot your computer. To do this, use the appropriate method for your
  version of Windows.

Windows 98
----------

  a. Click Start, and then click Run.

  b. In the Open box, type "msconfig" (without the quotation marks), and then
     click OK.

  c. On the General tab, click Selective Startup, and then click to clear the
     following check boxes:

      - Process Config.sys File
      - Process Autoexec.bat File
      - Process Winstart.bat File (if available)
      - Process Win.ini File
      - Load Startup Group Items

  d. Click OK. When you are prompted to restart the computer, do so.

Windows 95
----------

  a. Restart the computer. When you see the "Starting Windows 95" message,
     press the F8 key, and then select Command Prompt Only from the Startup
     menu.

  b. At the command prompt, type "win" (without the quotation marks), and then
     press ENTER. Press and hold down the SHIFT key until the Windows startup
     sequence is complete.

  c. Disable any anti-virus or disk tool programs installed on the computer.
     For information about how to disable these programs, see the printed or
     online documentation for the program.

  d. Quit all running programs except Explorer and Systray. To do this, press
     CTRL+ALT+DELETE, click the program you want to quit, and then click End
     Task. If you receive a message that the program is busy or not responding,
     click End Task again. Repeat this step to quit all programs except
     Explorer and Systray.

5. Double-click the Hhupd.exe file on the desktop, click Yes, and then click OK.

6. If you run Expedia Streets & Trips 2000 on a Windows 95-based computer,
  restart the computer normally.

  If you run Expedia Streets & Trips 2000 on a Windows 98-based computer:

  a. Click Start, and then click Run.

  b. In the Open box, type "msconfig" (without the quotation marks), and then
     click OK.

  c. On the General tab, click Normal Startup.

  d. Click OK. When you are prompted to restart the computer, do so.
