SYMPTOMS
========
If you change a user account and then perform a remote shutdown, the changes may
not be retained when the computer restarts.
CAUSE
=====
The Local Security Authority (LSA) process is not being notified of the system
shutdown when the request comes from another computer. This causes the Security
Accounts Manager (SAM) database not to be flushed.
RESOLUTION
==========
A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to
correct the problem described in this article and should be applied only to
systems experiencing this specific problem.
