SYMPTOMS
========

When the you run directory synchronization (dirsync) between Lotus cc:Mail and
Exchange Server and a cc:Mail address has a period after the middle initial,
after directory synchronization, the period is not included in the middle
initial field in either the X.400 address or the display name in Exchange
Server.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Exchange Server 5.5.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products that are
listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in
Exchange Server 5.5 Service Pack 4.
