SYMPTOMS
========

When you click a Web link in Microsoft Encarta World Atlas 2000, the Web page
may not open.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior occurs if you remove Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 from your
computer.

If Internet Explorer 5 is not installed on your computer, you cannot connect to
the World Wide Web from Encarta World Atlas 2000, even if another Web browser is
installed on your computer.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this issue, reinstall Internet Explorer 5.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Encarta World Atlas
2000.

If you remove Internet Explorer 5, you are not warned that this program is
needed for Encarta World Atlas 2000 to function properly.
