SYMPTOMS
========

When you attempt to install Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4 (SP4), Dr.
Watson may start and you may receive an error message indicating that a fault
occurred in Update.exe because of an in page I/O error (0xC0000006).

CAUSE
=====

During the service pack upgrade, a copy error is encountered because of network
problems. Update.exe attempts to page in the Setupapi.dll file from the location
of the service pack files, but is unable to do so because of network problems.

RESOLUTION
==========

Windows NT Server or Workstation 4.0

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows NT 4.0 or the
individual software update. For information on obtaining the latest service

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT 4.0 and Windows NT
Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition.

This problem was first corrected in Windows NT Server 4.0 Service Pack 6 and
Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition Service Pack 6.
