SYMPTOMS
========

Browsing AS/400 files that are mapped using the Shared Folders Gateway service
may take several minutes.

CAUSE
=====

This is caused by a problem within the Shared Folders gateway. The problem only
occurs if the naming convention of the files to be displayed is exactly 8.3
format.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for SNA Server version
4.0. For additional information, please see the following article in the

WORKAROUND
==========

Do not use 8.3 format file types.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft SNA Server, versions
3.0, 3.0 SP1, 3.0 SP2, 3.0 SP3, 3.0 SP4, 4.0, 4.0 SP1, 4.0 SP2. This problem was
first corrected in SNA Server version 4.0 Service Pack 3.
