SYMPTOMS
========
When you attempt to install the Microsoft BackOffice Server 4.5 software from
the May 1999 Microsoft Certified Partner Welcome Kit or Monthly Mailer, an error
message may be displayed stating that you do not have a valid Product
Identification (PID) number and you cannot complete the installation process.
CAUSE
=====
This problem occurs because the PID included with the May 1999 Microsoft
Certified Partner Welcome Kit and Monthly Mailer kits is incorrect.
RESOLUTION
==========
To resolve this issue, when you are prompted for the PID number during the
BackOffice Server 4.5 installation process, type the first three digits of the
PID included with the software package and then skip the fourth digit. You can
then type the remainder of the 11 digit PID and continue with the server
installation.
