SYMPTOMS
========

When creating a Mailbox object using the IS/DS consistency adjuster, for example
after restoring an old backup of the Exchange Server directory, the
DELIV-EXT-CONTENT-TYPES attribute is not re-created. This mailbox may not be
able to receive messages from an X.400 connector. The following error will be
logged in the Windows NT application event log:

  Event ID: 8516
  Description: The delivery of a message failed because the message's content
  type was incorrect. A non-delivery report is being sent to the message's
  originator.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Exchange Server
version 5.5. For additional information, please see the following article in the

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Exchange Server
version 5.5. This problem was first corrected in Exchange Server 5.5 Service
Pack 3.
