When you install Midtown Madness or Midtown Madness 2, Setup creates several
troubleshooting shortcuts in the Midtown Madness folder.
By default, Midtown Madness is installed in the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Midtown Madness
By default, Midtown Madness 2 is installed in the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Midtown Madness 2
You can use these troubleshooting shortcuts to troubleshoot problems you may
encounter when you play the game.
Midtown Safe Mode or Midtown2 Safe Mode
---------------------------------------
This shortcut disables the introductory movie, forces the video adapter to be
redetected by the game, and uses the software renderer in the game.
Use this shortcut if you think there is a conflict between Midtown Madness and
the video adapter installed in the computer.
No Movie
--------
This shortcut disables the introductory movie.
Use this shortcut if you do not want to watch the introductory movie, or if you
encounter problems when the introductory movie is being played.
No Sound
--------
This shortcut disables the introductory movie and disables sound in the game.
Use this shortcut if you think there is a conflict between Midtown Madness and
the audio adapter installed in the computer.
Redetect Video
--------------
This shortcut forces Midtown Madness to redetect the video adapter installed in
the computer each time you start the game.
Use this shortcut if you have recently installed a new video adapter or video
driver and you think the adapter or driver was not properly detected by the
game.
