Article: Q225157
Product(s): Microsoft Exchange
Version(s): winnt:5.5

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The information in this article applies to:

- Microsoft Exchange Server, version 5.5
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SYMPTOMS
========

If you configure an X.400 Connector to use a Cirel Winsock X.25 card installed
in an Exchange Server computer, the Message Transfer Agent (MTA) may stop
unexpectedly. This problem is most likely to occur during heavy message traffic.

CAUSE
=====

This problem occurs when the Cirel Winsock transport sends a malformed buffer
into the stack. If the data is invalid, it should not be passed up the stack to
the MTA, but it is.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Exchange Server
version 5.5. For additional information, please see the following article in the
Microsoft Knowledge Base:
