SYMPTOMS
========

When you quit a round in Microsoft Golf 1999 Edition, a black screen may be
displayed instead of the startup screen.

NOTE: If you move the pointer over the button positions on the black screen, you
can still hear the button sounds, and the game music continues to play.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior can occur if your Microsoft Windows color palette setting is 256
colors.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this issue, increase your Windows color palette setting to High Color
(16-bit). To do this, follow these steps:

1. Press ALT+F4 to quit Golf 99.

2. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

3. Double-click Display.

4. Click the Settings tab.

5. In the Color Palette or Colors box, click High Color (16-bit).

6. Click OK. If you are prompted to restart the computer, do so.
