SYMPTOMS
========

When you change the spelling of a word within the Spelling and Grammar dialog
box (in the Not in Dictionary box) and then click Change, tabs at the beginning
of the sentence that contains the misspelling are removed.

NOTE: To check the spelling of your document, click Spelling and Grammar on the
Tools menu.


WORKAROUND
==========

Make the correction to the misspelling using one of the following methods:

Method 1: Use Suggestions
-------------------------

1. On the Tools menu, click Spelling and Grammar.

2. In the Spelling and Grammar dialog box, click to select the correct spelling
  of the misspelled word in the Suggestions box.

3. Click Change.

Method 2: Use the Shortcut Menu
-------------------------------

After Word flags a misspelled word with the wavy red underline, right-click the
misspelled word. On the shortcut menu that appears, click to select the correct
spelling of your word.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products that are
listed at the beginning of this article.<A0>This problem was corrected in Microsoft
Word 2000.
