Q256986 Description of the Microsoft Windows Registry
SYMPTOMS
========
On client systems with Netscape 4.05 installed as the default browser, the
Outlook 98 Deployment Kit (ODK) installs the Internet Explorer as the default
browser after the system is rebooted and Internet Explorer configures itself.
WORKAROUND
==========
To work around this behavior, make the following registry changes in the systems
registry. Afterwards, the system will not check to see which application is the
default browser.
WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems
that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot
guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor
incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
