SYMPTOMS
========

After you save as Word 6.0/95 and reopen your Word document containing a hidden
AutoNum, AutoNumLgl, or AutoNumOut field, the results of the field will be
displayed, even though you are not viewing hidden text.

NOTE: The results of the hidden AutoNum field appear on the screen and when you
print the document.


WORKAROUND
==========

Do not save your document as "Word 6.0/95 (*.doc)". Instead, save your document
in Word 97 as "Word Document (*.doc)" and open your document in Word 6.0 for
Windows or Word for Windows 95 using the Word 97-2000 import converter.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products that are

To not show (view) hidden text, do the following:

1. On the Tools menu, click Options.

2. On the View tab, click to clear the Hidden Text check box.

3. Click OK.
