SYMPTOMS
========

After the introduction to a lesson has finished loading, the entire desktop may
begin to flash repeatedly.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior occurs in the following situations:

- On some laptop computers, this behavior occurs if the color palette is set to
  256 colors (or 8-bit color depth.)

- On some laptop computers, this behavior occurs if you have the beta version
  of the Microsoft Windows Media Player version 2.1 installed.

WORKAROUND
==========

To work around this behavior, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

2. Double-click the Display icon.

3. In the Display Properties dialog box, click the Settings tab.

4. Make sure that the Color Palette is set to 65536 colors or higher.

5. Click OK.

6. In Control Panel, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.

7. Search for the Media Player 2.1 Beta option in the list of installed
  programs.

8. If the Media Player 2.1 Beta option exists, select it, and then click
  Add/Remove. Follow any prompts you see on the screen to remove this program.

9. Close Control Panel.
