SYMPTOMS
========

When you attempt to play a sound file in Bookshelf 2000 or Bookshelf 99, the
sound playback may pause or break up.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior can occur if you run Bookshelf on a computer based on a 486
processor.

The minimum system requirements for Bookshelf 99 specify a 60 MHz Pentium or
faster processor.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this issue, use the program on a computer that meets the minimum
system requirements to run Bookshelf 2000 or Bookshelf 99.

Bookshelf 99, please see the Bookshelf 99 Readme.txt file in the Support folder
on the Bookshelf 99 CD-ROM.

MORE INFORMATION
================

Bookshelf 2000 and Bookshelf 99 use MPEG-3 for compressed sound playback.
Earlier versions of Bookshelf use Microsoft ADPCM and Microsoft GSM audio codecs
for compressed sound playback.
