SYMPTOMS
========
When you attempt to fax after installing Microsoft Outlook 98, one of the
following may occur:
- When merging to Electronic Mail using the WinFax Starter Edition fax number
format (Fax@<fax number>), you may receive the following error message
when Outlook 98 sends the merged items to your Outbox:
Some errors occurred while processing the requested tasks. Please review the
list of errors below for more details.
Unable to connect to the server. (Account: 'Symantec WinFax Starter Edition',
SMTP Server: '127.0.0.1', Error Number: 0x800ccc0e).
NOTE: This error message will appear if Symantec WinFax Starter Edition is set
as the default Internet Account in Outlook 98. To check the default account
in Outlook 98, click Accounts on the Tools menu and then click the Mail tab.

- When you try to merge to Electronic Mail using the Microsoft Fax fax number
format (Fax:<fax number>), the following error message may appear:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shutdown. If the
problem persists, contact the program vendor.
WINWORD caused an invalid page fault in module OLEAUT32.dll at 0137:6534b2dl.

- In a Word document, when you point to Send To on the File menu and then click
Mail Recipient, a new mail message appears. When you type the fax number
using the [Fax:<fax number>] format in the To box and click Send, the
Check Names dialog box appears with the "No Matches Found" message.
-or-
- In a Word document, when you point to Send To on the File menu and then click
Fax Recipient, the Fax Wizard tries to start but nothing happens or you
receive the following error message:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shutdown. If the
problem persists, contact the program vendor.

- When you try to send a fax from Microsoft Fax (on the Start menu, point to
Programs, point to Accessories, point to Fax, and then click Compose New Fax,
the following error message appears:
The profile you selected does not have fax capabilities. You can either add
fax to this profile (through the Control Panel), or restart with a profile
that contains fax.
CAUSE
=====
These errors occur if you selected the Internet Mail Only (IMO) option in the
Microsoft Outlook 98 Setup program and you have Microsoft Fax installed.
RESOLUTION
==========
To correct these problems, you need to remove Microsoft Fax and then reinstall
the Symantec WinFax Starter Edition in Outlook 98 setup.
