SYMPTOMS
========

An Internet Mail conversion thread is caught in a loop due to an incorrectly
formatted MIME message.

If your are experiencing this bug, the call stack shown in the Dr. Watson dump
(and log) will look like the one below (with thousands of calls to
EcCommitStream and EcCommitStreamOp):

CAUSE
=====

The Thread handling this message is caught between commit operations for two
converters. A commit operation is issued, and the HRESULT returned is 80040c11.
According to the comments before IsIMAILRewindError, these errors indicated that
the message should be reconverted. This error is IMAIL_E_REWIND_STREAM_822,
which is supposed to cause a rewind and then process as 822. This is passed into
the Clean up function, which should set the rewriter to Convert to 822. It does.
Internet Mail continually sets the rewind error to be rewind and convert as 822,
but it never succeeds or changes.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Exchange Server
version 5.0.

A supported fix is now available, but has not been fully regression-tested and
should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. Unless you
are severely impacted by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you
wait for the next Service Pack that contains this fix. Contact Microsoft
Technical Support for more information.
