This article describes how to connect to MSN, The Microsoft Network, using a
third-party Internet service provider (ISP).

MORE INFORMATION

To connect to MSN using a third-party ISP, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

2. Double-click Internet.

3. On the Connection tab, click "Connect to the Internet using a Modem."

4. Click Settings.

5. Click the third-party ISP's Dial-Up Networking connection in the "Use the
  following Dial-Up Networking connection" box.

6. Click OK until you return to Control Panel.

7. Close Control Panel, and then restart the computer.

If your third-party ISP does not use a Dial-Up Networking connection, use the
following steps:

1. Right-click the MSN icon on the desktop, and then click Connection Settings.

2. On the Options tab, click the "Use this service for all dial-up Internet
  access" check box to clear it, and then click OK.

NOTE: After you perform these steps, you must connect to your third-party ISP
before you connect to MSN.
