SYMPTOMS
========

When you attempt to install Microsoft Bookshelf 98 on a computer without a sound
card, you may receive the following message:

  Bookshelf runs best on computer equipped with a sound card and MIDI device.

If you click the Close button in the upper right corner of the message, you
receive the following message:

  Do you want to cancel this installation?

If you click Yes, Bookshelf Setup continues to run.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this issue, click Cancel in the next dialog box that appears. When
you are prompted to confirm that you want to cancel the installation, click Yes.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Bookshelf 98 for
Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in
the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
