To configure your modem to connect to MSN, use one of the following methods.
NOTE: These methods are correct if you use MSN as your Internet service provider
(ISP) and you connect with a modem. If you use another ISP to connect to MSN,
contact your ISP to configure your modem connection.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.x
-------------------------------
1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Internet.
3. On the Connection tab, click Connect to the Internet as needed.
4. In the Use the following Dial-Up Networking connection box, click MSN.
5. Click the Connect through a proxy server check box to clear it, and then
click OK.
Internet Explorer 4.x
---------------------
1. Right-click the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop, and then click
Properties.
2. On the Connection tab, click Connect to the Internet using a modem, and then
click Settings.
3. In the Use the following Dial-Up Networking connection box, click MSN.
4. In the User box, type MSN/<member_ID>,where <member_ID> is your
MSN member identification.
5. In the Password box, type your MSN password in lower case.
6. Click OK, and then click OK.
Internet Explorer 5.x

1. Right-click the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop, and then click
Properties.
2. On the Connection tab, under Dial-up Settings, select one of the following
options:
-dial whenever a network connection is not present (use if you switch between
using a LAN and Modem to connect)
-always dial my default connection (if you only want to connect by modem)
3. Click Settings, and in the Use the following Dial-Up Networking connection
box, click MSN.
4. In the User box, type MSN/<member_ID>,where <member_ID> is your
MSN member identification.
5. In the Password box, type your MSN password in lower case.
6. Click OK, and then click OK.
