SYMPTOMS
========

When you attempt to connect to certain Web sites, you may receive the following
error message:

  RealAudio Error 50: Cannot open audio device.

When you click OK, you are able to connect to the Web site; however, any audio
features of the site are unavailable.

CAUSE
=====

MSN, The Microsoft Network, may be unable to detect your sound card, or you may
not have a sound card installed in your computer.

RESOLUTION
==========

If a sound card is installed in your computer, verify that a Windows 95 sound
card driver is installed. To do so, use the following steps:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

2. Double-click System.

3. On the Device Manager tab, double-click Sound, Video And Game Controllers.

If a sound card driver is listed, you need to determine if the driver is
configured correctly. Contact the manufacturer of the sound card for further
assistance.

If a sound card driver is not listed, use the Add New Hardware tool in Control
Panel to install the sound card driver.

For more information about how to use the Add New Hardware tool, please see your
Windows printed documentation or online Help.
