SYMPTOMS
========

When you use the Research Organizer, you may receive the following error
message:

  This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the
  problem persists, contact the program vendor.

If you click the Details button, you see the following message:

  ORG98 caused an invalid page fault in module COMCTL32.DLL

If you receive this message, any information you added since you last saved your
work is lost. Information you saved prior to receiving this error message is
saved.

This problem occurs if you use the arrow buttons on the toolbar or the keyboard
(CTRL+Up Arrow), or if you use the mouse to drag a section of the organizer and
cause the hierarchical structure to scroll.

This problem does not occur when you move items down in the tree, or if you use
the mouse to drag individual note cards.

NOTE: This issue does not occur with Encarta 98 Encyclopedia for Macintosh.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this problem obtain the Research Organizer update (Roreva.exe) from
the Microsoft Download Center.

Microsoft used the most current virus detection software available on the date of
posting to scan this file for viruses. Once posted, the file is housed on secure
servers that prevent any unauthorized changes to the file.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Encarta 98
Encyclopedia for Windows.
