SYMPTOMS
========

When you open or save a file in Microsoft Word 97 through either file transfer
protocol (FTP) or hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) on the Internet, the
shortcut to the file will not be listed in the Recent folder within the
Microsoft Windows folder.

WORKAROUND
==========

To work around this problem, open or save a file in Microsoft Word 97 through
either FTP or HTTP and save the file to the hard disk. This will force a
shortcut to appear in the Windows\Recent folder.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at
the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new
