SYMPTOMS

A system running Windows NT 4.0 may crash with the following stop message:
STOP 0x00000050 (0xfc4fd828, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
This will occur with a S3 video adapter running in VGA 256 color mode.
NOTE: The first parameter will vary.
STATUS
======
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 4.0. This
problem has been corrected in Service Pack 3 for Windows NT version 4.0. For
information on obtaining the Service Pack, query on the following word in the
